I have thirty years of clinical experience, fifteen of those spent within the VA system delivering CBT for Insomnia and serving as a master consultant and trainer, teaching other therapists how to deliver this modality of treatment. I have treated hundreds of clients with Insomnia Disorder and have specialized experience treating insomnia with co-occuring disorders such as PTSD. My patients also appreciate how well CBT-I works, and how quickly.
In nearly all the patients I’ve treated for insomnia, there is a strong tendency for perfectionism. I found that enhancing core CBT-I with additional modules on mindfulness, relaxation and emotional regulation skills effectively addresses this issue.
Sleep is so fundamental to our well-being, and it can get off-balance easily. One of my greatest professional joys is when my patients report t ...
