Currently accepting clients virtually across Nova Scotia and Ontario for individual CBT for Insomnia. I am formally trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the leading evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia. I also draw on principles from CBT, DBT, and ACT to help you manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, and set boundaries, outside of the CBT-I protocol. My approach is steady and non-judgmental, whether sleep is your main concern or one part of a bigger picture. My training comes from a mix of training through university courses, as well as shadowing a sleep psychiatrist in the inner workings of CBT-Insomnia. I find that these two forms of learning have really solidified my understanding of all things sleep. Please reach out for a free consultatio ...

Do you ever feel like bedtime isn't a relief, but a punishment? Like you're walking toward the gallows instead of toward rest? Do you wake up in the middle of the night, stare at the ceiling, and mutter—"Not again"? Maybe you've tried the teas, the blackout curtains, the apps, the influencers' rituals. And yet… still awake. If so, you're in good company. I've specialized in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) for over 10 years, and I've seen this exact pattern hundreds of times—in clients who now sleep soundly. Renowned clinical psychologist, Marsha Linehan, once said that when we're distressed, we really only have three choices: change the way we think, change the way we act, or remain utterly miserable. And if you've struggled with insomnia for any length of time ...
